 Spatial Audio Engineer (Freelance) 



Polygon Productions is a pioneering tech-startup on a mission to revolutionize the live event experience through immersive sound and art. Not since the advent of stereo has there been a more pivotal moment in live sound. For decades the promise of spatial audio has faced significant obstacles. Until now, technology has been unable to present a solution that allows live music to play-back from all directions.


We’re delighted to be working on a number of exciting projects for 2024 and looking for Spatial Audio Engineers to join our Sound Team.  As a spatial audio engineer you’ll support the team in providing an exceptional spatial audio and visual experience. 


We’re seeking an audio engineer who is dedicated to excellence in audio and has a passion for immersive sound.   If you have a deep understanding of audio technology and 3D sound and you’re detail-oriented, energetic and personable we’d love to hear from you!  


  • Participate in show and event production, focusing on creating immersive experiences.

  • Handle cabling and patching for audio systems.

  • Operate audio control boards during shows.

  • Provide assistance throughout the house as needed during production.

  • Collaborate with the Production Manager on technical advance with artists' representatives.

  • Ensure proper care and handling of all company and rental audio equipment.

  • Assist with any special events operations.

  • Operate audio systems throughout the entire show/event, including mixing console operations and interfacing with outboard gear.


To be successful in the role you should have : 

  • Bachelor’s degree or master's degree in a relevant discipline or MBA.

  • Extensive knowledge of technical production working on large-scale events, ideally some experience with best-in-class experience in the technology space

  • Proven ability to lead by example, learn quickly and manage multiple acts and schedules simultaneously. 

  • Proficiency in communications skills, audio systems troubleshooting & repair, basic lighting & video systems operations

  • A passion for spatial sound and immersive technologies. 

  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, with the ability to quickly absorb information and learn on the job.

  • Good working knowledge of L-ISA.

  • Willingness to have a flexible working schedule across global time zones, including the possibility of working from home or abroad.

  • Desirable: Experience working or living abroad, or experience traveling for long periods of time, with the ability to work cross-culturally.

  • Kindness, compassion, and a good sense of humor.



We are looking for skilled audio engineers based in the USA, Europe and Asia who are interested in being part of our team for upcoming Polygon events.


Projects will be varied and briefed on an event by event basis. May be suitable for someone who is a contractor or freelancer and willing to work evenings and weekends.
